MANAGING DIRECTOR · LUCKY HEAVY DIESEL MAINTENANCE LIMITED
Lakshman SikuradhipathiSIKURADHIPATHI GANITHAYALAGE
Lakshman Sikuradhipathi founded Lucky Heavy Diesel Maintenance Limited in August 2022 after years working in New Zealand’s heavy transport and civil contracting sector. His operational philosophy is direct: machine down means money lost — every hour of mechanic response time is a line item on someone’s P&L, and that urgency drives every callout decision.
His trade foundation is a three-year full-time engineering programme at the Construction Equipment Training Centre (CETRAC), Pelawatia, Sri Lanka — certified by the Institute for Construction Training and Development (ICTAD) under the Sri Lankan Ministry of Construction and Engineering Services, in collaboration with the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA). Completed October 2009, the qualification was formally recognised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority in April 2021 — assessed at Level 4 and listed under the Diesel Motor Mechanic (including Heavy Vehicle Inspector) occupation on New Zealand’s Skill Shortage List.
Operating as sole director and the primary mechanic on-site, Lakshman brings a hands-on discipline to fleet maintenance that contracted workshop services rarely match. The service truck arrives with parts, diagnostic equipment, and hydraulic tooling — built around solving the problem at the machine, not transporting it to a workshop.
Based at 6e Dowding Street, Melville, Hamilton, LHD Maintenance now operates across the full Waikato corridor — servicing civil contractors, transport operators, agricultural businesses, and bus fleets from Ngaruawahia to Cambridge and beyond.

OPERATIONAL HISTORY · 2022 – PRESENT
Built from the ground up.
Built with Island Grit & Global Expertise.
Lakshman carried his trade halfway across the world. A three-year, full-time heavy-machinery engineering programme — earned at the Construction Equipment Training Centre (CETRAC) in Sri Lanka and certified by ICTAD in collaboration with NAITA — became the foundation of everything LHD Maintenance stands for. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority later assessed that training at Level 4 for Diesel Motor Mechanic, on the national Skill Shortage List.
He brought that hard-won expertise to the Waikato and built the company from the ground up — sole director, sole shareholder, and the mechanic under the machine. Island grit, globally-certified craft, and a refusal to let a breakdown beat the clock.
